All taken from the first three pages of this thread, the fourth was a couple of posts after my first post, the rest before. If you read my posts I'm quite open and fair and not once do I mention any specific hardware or console wars!!!! Just discussing the visuals of the game as some people seemed to be of the impression that this game had the best graphics ever, as shown above.

I agree with the part of your post not included. That's what forums are all about. Debate, discussion and criticism. And I'm glad people are bringing different points of view to this thread as it's letting me look at things I didn't notice before either.
I rarely share my opinions and act more as a mediator or someone who tries to set things straight so as to not allow false claims or misunderstanding. This is what I will be doing now. Regarding the part of your quote I included above:
Contender means challenger or competitor so this quote doesn't exactly say that this person thinks Alan Wake is the BEST looking.
Again, not saying Alan Wake is the best. It's pretty much labeling Alan Wake as a competitor, not necessarily the BEST looking.
Among, meaning it's a great looking title that ranks up there. Again, it doesn't say BEST looking.
Rival: an object that is competing for the same object or goal as another, or that tries to equal or outdo another; competitor. This is again saying that Alan Wake is a great looking title and the individual thinks it's among the great lookers, not necessarily labeling it the BEST looking.
Not a single one said it had the "best graphics ever", as shown above.
Having said that, the game looks well enough to depict the atmosphere it strives for and that's all that matters to me in regards to graphics nowadays with how advanced and pretty things have gotten.

Thank you very much for explaining the simple concept of reading to him. His first post in here blatantly stunk of some "fan" reading too much into people hyped about a game, once again not a single one of those quotes said ALan Wake had THE best graphics. One thing is for certain, the game doesn't look "average" in any rational individuals eyes and hence not only was he trolling but also baiting in my opinion too.
