A guy named swordy posted a link to a video showing the first 10 minutes of the soon-to-be-released Xbox 360 exclusive, Alan Wake. Some people appreciated how good the game looked. Almost instantly, people who own the PS3 console (and will NEVER play Alan Wake) invaded the thread to prove that PS3 exclusives (that the 360 owners will NEVER play) is better.

Not exaclty. A TON of people started posting saying Alan Wake is the best looking game "ever" and that it's raising the bar for ALL games graphically. Saying it has the best graphics and lighting of any game ever and that it blows all other games out of the water.
I don't know about other cases, but my point is that it isn't THAT amazing as people are claiming and that it seems to sit on average with other games and it needs some perspective. For me anyway it's nothing to do with a PS3/Xbox thing, I own both and actually have more 360 games than PS3 and will probably be adding Alan Wake to my collection when its released. If I could find examples of better looking 360 games as quickly as I could PS3 ones I'd use them instead, the problem is some of the best looking 360 games are on PC also, where most of their vids come from. You're really dumbing down the stuff that started this.
Thinking about it I think FFXIII looks better than Alan Wake too.

Lol, good point, but it's not like its someones pride and joy here, its a topic about a game on a website for gamers who have lots of opinions on games. If it is someones pride and joy then other games may be other peoples pride and joys also. When people say "this is the best EVER" then people are entitled to disagree and people will argue, especially on a subjective topic such as aesthetics. Without opinions and discussion forums would be pretty boring and thread would die off very quickly. :)
If anything Alan Wake fans should be thankful for the debate in this thread because it's keeping it on the front page and advertising the game more, most people won't read past the title or after checking the video anyway! At least most comments are constructive and fair rather than "Thiz game suxz because it's not got master chief". :p

Actually nobody said this was the best ever graphics before you trolled the topic claiming they were average. I've just read the first few pages and people were quite in check, some said they rivalled the best graphics they had seen on consoles but nobody else brought specific games into the equation or downplayed other consoles quality of titles. It is YOU and solely you who started trolling this thread first, nobody else is to blame for the responses but you with your needless baiting.
I'd be more thankful if people like you were moderated and banned as you should be for your frankly pointless posts in here hating on a game you haven't played and probably will not play anyway. If it wasn't for people like you I could have a civil discussion with people actually interested in the game rather than have to filter through 10+ pages of 360 v PS3 fanboy bullshit you started. By the way not a single user I know of in this thread stated FFXIII would look better on 360 than either the PS3 or any PS£ exclusive. You're just trolling trying to annoy people and its pathetic.
