Personally think that storyline sucks, hopefully EPIC has a better one planned. Id try and write a better one but I know that would suck as well so Im leaving it to EPIC. Also think this part was odd

You already know that part. The locust evolved in the Hollow because some of the backstory says there were stories in Sera's history of creatures kidnapping children, and the lambent are locust that mutated from exposure to Imulsion. Not sure if you meant to say way the Lambent are fighting the Locust, because that would make more sense.
Also think theres more to Marcus' dad. I think there was another reason his message was on the Locust computer which would explain the way the Locust Queen spoke about and how he survived the Locust attack when the COG assumes he is dead
