I dont support sony on this move, but they didnt force you to loose the ability to play future games or bd movies. That would be illegual. They stated that you may not be able to use certain content without update. Like when theyll release 3D games and 3D blu ray movies this was not part of your purchase so they can restrict you on those. If they release any kind of new tech, then they may restrict you on those. Moves games are another good example. But the normal PS3 games will surely never be restricted to removing "otherOS", people would mass sue them and would win, its not going to happen.
Your right sometimes thing are just as simple as they look, but theres different ways of looking at them... In this case, they suck for doing it, but its not illegual, simple heh.
