The story that comes to mind is the goose that lays golden eggs - Activision didn't just kill it, they pulverized it, cremated its remains and scattered them into the ocean. Regardless of the developers at IW's conduct, I'm amazed that Kotick et al was able to so efficiently destroy what is arguably the biggest franchise not owned by Nintendo.
