Pretty much every JRPG has fallen in this category, especially those 360 exclusive ones that were TOTAL dogs.
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant, Infinate Undiscovery (a VERY special OMGTHATGAMEBLOWS for that one), Enchanted Arms
Come to think of it I haven't played a good JRPG this gen (and yes I've played FFXIII which I also haven't finished after getting to chapter 11 or so, I reiterate I haven't played a good JRPG this gen).
Well there was Disgaea 3, Valkariya Chronicles, Demon Souls, Yakuza 3, as well as Persona 3 and 4 and I really liked all of them. But to be fair they aren't really next gen JRPGs (2 are strategy, 2 are action and 2 are PS2 games which came out after this gen started)
Thank god for WRPGs like Dragon Age and Mass Effect 1/2 or I'd lose hope in the RPG genre.
