| kowenicki said: YES!! Cameron: Cut MP's by 10%. wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to many MP's now. Clegg: Allow constituents to sack MP's.... like that too Brown: eff all. Apart from the same old house of lords red herring, everyone is going to look at this gordon. Brown has had 13 years to sort out the H of L and hasnt... why hasnt he? |
To be fair he has only been PM for a couple of years and this is his first manifesto... I know he was in the government, but he didn't make the final decisions. Now he does.
It was an okay debate. Of course, Brown appears to have the hardest job, but only Clegg came out winning really. Brown probably has stabilised not sure about Cameron, probably slipped a bit I think. How any of you think Cameron is someone you want to win is beyond me. They are not offering anything of any substance whatsoever. Political leaders don't mess up a country either. It's so easy to scapegoat Brown or Thatcher or Blair for systemic faults. I remember the last Conservative government and they were scapegoated as well, but saying a type of Thatcherism is needed is insane - 4 recessions in 18 years, unemployment approaching 4 million and a weakened and underfunded NHS, school system, police force and so on. This was not only their work, of course, but the point remains that this other lot will still merely be tinkering rather than offering any substantial change.
I do have to point out that immigration has started to slow down and that will continue if our economy remains weak so Brown is not bullshitting on that one.
I tried to write a live update to my site as the evening went on. I'll try to do it again next time. If you want to see the results of my efforts to complete one story every fifteen minutes have a look here:
