Did you ever even stop for one moment to think that not everyone has the same kind of setup you do or that those features might actually be useful to them? Is it really that hard of a stretch to avoid being so blatantly narrowminded as your post is portraying you and imagine that there are a lot of people who can and do benefit from those extra features? I'm glad you were able to drop what looks like $1,500+ on your electronics and they provide all the stuff the PS3 does and more, but don't forget that not everyone can and will do that. The PS3 may not be best-in-class at many of the "extras" it provides, but it at least provides them so that it can be useful even when people aren't gaming with it.
If you don't feel the PS3 and all its features are worth the money then don't buy one. The people who feel otherwise will, but don't insult the console just because you personally don't have a use for its features. |
Uh, I already own a PS3. And sorry if you think I'm being a jerk by stating that I don't need a gaming machine to be everything and the kitchen sink; obviously there are plenty of others who feel the same way I do, otherwise the PS3 would be selling a lot more than it is now. Convergence devices that are expensive and don't do things as well as their more narrowly-focused counterparts usually don't take off like gangbusters. Sorry if you disagree with me but I fail to see how I was being a "jerk" about it. Even a non-technophile will look at that diagram by Sony and call bullshit on it. Most people already own half that stuff Sony slapped into the diagram. Yay for redundancy! BTW, where in my post did I insult the PS3? I simply called bullshit on that comparison diagram. |
Don't worry about it. She's a PS fangirl. So far, I have managed to see a grand total of zero posts of hers where she's not completely worshipping the Playstation brand and condemning anything that disrespects it.
