Isn't that only if you smoke it? I have heard that it only causes some minor liver problems if eaten.

What's the difference? Smoking, eating... it effects your body the same way. The only difference is you need to eat a LOT more to get it to work. If your getting the same level of high your suffering the same amount of negative effects. Really, I think it's less the physical health risks to worry about then the mental health risks. It seems to show correlations both ways. I had some friends who were on top of the world, everyone likes them... now a days... they're paranoid, jittery never calm unless they're high, not comfortable around anybody... they didn't take it well. Also if you do plan to use Marijuana MAKE SURE the bag is airtight. Otherwise... well it just isn't good. If it gets the least bit moldy it could be really dangerous. |
Besides how it's absorbed into the body, the main difference is fire. Burning will create a whole host of nasty chemicals that won't exist in dried leaves.
As I understand it, marijuana produces a nastier smoke than tobacco, but because of how often the two substances tend to be used, smoking tobacco is the deadlier habit.
Also, a small set of people who use THC suffer a nasty side effect of induced psychosis. This is normally offset by another substance in cannabis called cannabidiol which has anti-psychotic properties, but as plants are bred for higher and higher THC content, the plants also produce less and less cannabidiol. This is where legalization would be really helpful, as government limits on THC content in marijuana could maintain the balance of these two substances and protect users from this dangerous side effect.

I was talking about the mental effects. Not the physical ones.
There are more mental effects then just psychosis.
