I'm the same as Stoked - just beat the game but didn't quite understand the ending. If there's a site that explains it or something, that'd be great!

Also, in the exact oposite as Stoked, it said I "zero" starred the final boss, which I find almost impossible as I beat him really quick. Rav/Rav/Com to stagger to start, immediately did "Army of One" and pounded on him. Then had to heal once quick, and then Rav/Rav/Com again. Beat him on the second stagger...can't believe that should be zero stars. You must have to beat him in like 20 seconds to get a 5 star...

The time limit for the second stage is about 1:10 - 1:20 when I fought him on the first time.

With a fully developed party and weapons/accesories, it can go as low as 00:35 >_<

Well, my characters were fully developed in their 3 priamary roles (or rather, as far as they can be developed without first beating the game), as well as maxed out in 2 of the 3 other roles.  Was starting to fill up the final role.  I do have Lightnings final weapon, so not sure if that brings the time down.  I wasn't SUPER suprised it wasn't a 5 star (though I believe I had 5 starred every single other boss up until that point in the final level), but ZERO stars?  WTF?

The further you are down the development path of a weapon/accesory, the lower the time limit you'll have for battles.

My party of fully maxed Tier 3 weapons, super ribbons*/champion belts*/genji gloves*/Kaiser Knuckles* and each role at level 5 was the one that had the 00:35 time limit.

The time limit for the final battle is rather odd, given that he's invulnerable until he's staggered and that he has ~3.5M HP

Isn't there a "gold watch" or something like that extends how much time you get?  I haven't gotten it yet but I feel like I'm probably going to need to find it to get the 5 star.  That or just unequip all my leveled weapons/accessories before the fight, I guess.

Not a biggie, either way.  Was just suprised as I seemed to be getting one 5 star after another and then I beat the final boss way quicker than all those battles, and got zero stars.  But I'm planning on trying to get all cieth stones now and maxing out my characters before I go back...

Yes, there is. It's mission 64 reward.

Thanks, must have not done that one yet...

And you won't be able to do it for quite a long time. He's the "toughest" super-boss in FFXIII (even though he's a lot weaker than Adamantoises, Neochu and Ratjavikia). He's got 17M HP and some damaging attacks, so you'll want to be close to full power when you fight him.

The two Ratjavikias weren't that hard. The only boss I had a tough time beating (without any tricks) was Neochu.
