But credit where credit is due, they have talented coders amongst their team and their game engine was already far more modern/mature many years ago than most game engines are modern/mature today with regard to multi-threaded design. |

Required man years, even with a big team of talented coders it will take a lot of time to design an optimal Blu-Ray streaming game engine and it will take even more time to hand optimise for eight 3.2 Ghz processors. This while it's not even all in their own hands, part of future progress lies with operating system optimisations (hence Sony).
