it is true 100% , some people are having a hard time coping about the fact that the gamepad will be a thing of the past in coming years.
next gen all consoles will have motion controls or some form of motion interface , the gamepad will still be around for the platforming gams but more and more people will gravitate to better , more precise and more accessable controls and in turn much more fun
