Well like Highwaystar said, you've only really got one point of view represented here (and that view is in the Dail Mail so not sure it even counts).
Seems a little overkill but can you really blame companies from doing this given how many people make claims over such small incidents now?
He was only banned from using a knife for a specific task because the staff hadn't all been trained. Can you imagine what would happen if they were using a kinfe on such a task and injured themselves without having being trained, lawsuit I would bet.
