Why?
It is a very well respected newspaper, second most popular to be precise. It sells in excess of 1 million copies per day and only the Sun is more popular. You don't dislike it because 53% of Daily Mail readers vote for the Conservative Party, compared to 21% for Labour and 17% for the Liberal Democrats?
All papers are controversial as they all are opinionated and the mail is no different from the Guardian, Times, Sun etc. This paper in particular highlights many issues that other papers dare not to cover.
