He must have been. God knows he wasn't one of those old-school trackballers.
Seriously, though, games just don't do guns justice. The Garand is a MOTHERFUCKER. It kicks like a horse. The AR-15 (M-16)? It's like a warm blanket. MP5? Holy shit, it's like a cap-gun. BEST. GUN. EVER. That's the one gun where you swear you could just run around and fire non-stop for two hours and not feel a thing. It's purrrrddddyy.
P-90? Like a sewing machine. Just don't try to hit anything specific.
I'd like to take this moment to say that my job is TOTALLY FUCKING SWEET. Where else do you get to take out a case of Glocks and fire them for free and chase it with a nice dose of Smith & Wesson M&P? It's one hell of a way to relieve stress from a workday, I'll say that much.

So which interface is actually closest to replicating that experience? KB/M, Mote or sticks? However feel free to say none of the above if you wish.
I've never actually fired a gun and its quite possible that unless I go to another country I never will fire a weapon. Isn't the MP5 something the swat teams use? In a practical sense, control in a tight environment and handling it would be perfect for that application, right?

Yes, that is why the MP5 is so short and fires a smaller round. It's made for being able to swing fast and still aim while firing a round that can knock a dude down with one or two hits.
But I'll have to tell you, the MP5 is a hell of a lot longer than you'd think. The firearm is about two feet of metal and plastic stuck out in front of you. You can't walk through a door and swing with it.
