Here we go again...another WRPG is better than JRPG thread...
As usual, I'm just going to say that there's good games in both genres. And both genres are guilty of being 'cliche'. While there's games in both genres that break those cliches.
And, like I always bring up, people should look for games that bridge the gap between the genres. Such as Dragon Quest which has many of the concepts and elements WRPG fans claim are superior (emphasis on exploration, character customization, 'you are the hero', etc) while still being a JRPG and evolving and breaking various cliches in that genre.
And I'm sorry to say, but if you think that WRPGs are better than JRPGs simply because you've played a few WRPGs this gen like Mass Effect or Dragon Age or if you think that JRPGs are 'inferior' because all you've played is Final Fantasy or Tales, then you need to stop talking.
