I generally despise JRPG games, I think the storylines are usually patronsing, childish, unoriginal and unimiginative copies of previous games with crap gameplay thrown in for good measure. With that first line out of the way I've given 2 JRPG's a go in the last year, Star Hope and FFXIII, Star Hope was pretty garbage and I gave up after 6 hours or so as the characters were just too annoying. FFXIII on the other hand I'm over 40 hours into now and have really enjoyed it. The point is they made this game more accessible and as a result have gained extra fans from it, something needs to change with the JRPG genre as its shrinking, this is a positive step in the right direction for me and many others. The game cannot be beat without serious tactical thought, especially in the later parts of the game where 5 seconds of being in the wrong paradigm and you're dead. |
This is exactly what im talking about, this game is made for people like slowmo, but they didnt gainany extra fans since this game will sell as much as 12 did and has one of the lowest meta scores. They have just lost the purist like me. I felt whith this game the same thing i felt when i saw FF spirit whithing and this game has as much to do with FF as that movie had to do with it.
Edit: oh and IGN gave FF 12 a 9.5 score and is one of the wrose FF ever made, in a few month we will be able to have a more accurate impression of this game, when the hype dies off.
