You should take it back. Simply because you wont be able to stomach what happens later.
The thing is, this isn't a problem with the game. Roman and Greek Mythology are EXTREMELY violent and graphic. If you have a problem with it, don't play it.
I, however, beat it, and thought the game was phenomenal start to finish. And I loved the violence and the graphic nature because it shows the lengths Kratos will go to to seek his revenge. He is on a mission and if you're in his way, look out.
