@Kung Kras

cool thanks, that one is roughly around the low end of my budget, so I can afford something more.

Can you reccomend a good 2.5 + GHZ laptop?

@Ssenkahdavic

The ones you posted are good

but they seem to have a 1.6 GHZ processor, thats no enough for Mass Effect 2 according to specs :(

I'd double check, but the i7 processors he listed are almost certainly Quad Cores that would also have turbo boost.

In other words, they are substantially more powerful than the 2.5GHZ DUAL cores being listed, and would easily run ME2.

Exactly.  They will run the game without any issue (besides the usual loadscreen issue on the ship but that is more of a quad core cpu issue)

1) with i7 720qm if only 2 cores are active it will run at a max clock speed of 2.398 GHz, while in i5 540m when 2 cores are active its running at 2.53 GHz

2) with i7 fully turboboosted and hyperthreaded at 4 cores, it is running at a max of 2.8 GHz, while a similar full automation of i5 540m gives it a clock speed of 3.06 GHz.

3) The i7 is the better gaming chip.  The extra L2C will make up for the lack of a few MHz.

And Darth.  Think about upgrading to a SSD (you can always buy a cheap enclosure for the HDD that comes with the machine for extra storage).  Im running one in both my laptop and my desktop as primary and they are amazing.  The biggest bottleneck you will have is the HDD, so going with a nice fast one is always a good idea.
