Android is much more scaleable than the iphone platform. But how about we make a friendly bet - in two years, after Iphone goes to Verizon(probably in about 6 months) lets see where android is compared to iphone. I have both an iphone(3GS) and an android phone(nexus one) as well as a BB (bold 9700). ask me which one dies on me more, also ask me which one I carry around more.

there are over 36 android based smartphone's already. Now China is adopting the Android based OS for their smartphone's, to top it off more than 18+ android based smartphone will be released in 2010, than if that is not enough there are non smartphone devices with Android OS on them like Lava's HD TV with the Android OS as it's core OS.

IF i was a betting man Google is to portable OS's for mobile devices as Microsoft is known for windows is for Desktop PC's.

Google and Partners Seek TV Foothold

Google and Intel have teamed with Sony to develop a platform called Google TV to bring the Web into the living room through a new generation of televisions and set-top boxes.

Based on Google’s Android operating system, the TV technology runs on Intel’s Atom chips.

Google has built a prototype set-top box, but the technology may be incorporated directly into TVs or other devices.

The Google TV software will present users with a new interface for TVs that lets them perform Internet functions like search while also pulling down Web programming like YouTube videos or TV shows from Hulu.com. The technology will also allow downloadable Web applications, like games and social networks, to run on the devices.
