Well you can still get "ripped off" for example some items are not exactly $5 or $10 or a equal amount. I have just under the 560 pts required for the Kasumi content, so I'll have to spend another $5 to get it and my pts will be screwed up again. The "sales" of XBLA titles don't help the pts either.
It's just that simple.
