Congrats on your purchase. I would recommend buying the rechargeable battery packs. I can't remember how much they cost...around $20 for the charger and one pack if I remember correctly. I have two battery packs so I always have one charged and ready to go when my other gets low.
Secondly I'd recommend picking up Gears of War/Gears 2. Its a great game series and definitely a different feel than a FPS. You might want to pick up Forza 3 as well. Its an awesome game with almost infinite replay value. Mass Effect is another unbelievable RPG. For $50 you can get Mass Effect 2 and recieve Mass Effect 1 for free. Not a bad deal. If you like JRPG's then Lost Odyssey is one you might like. Check out Live Arcade games such as Peggle, Braid and Geometry Wars Evolved. So much fun and addicting. You have alot of catching up to do.
