| ShadowSnake said: lol there's no way amazon would do this all on their own. either its already been decided in court that sony needs to send refunds or that amazon already got an agreement w/ sony. a retailer would never part with cash before it was official unless they weren't the ones covering the costs. what reason does amazon have to lose 20% of their income on the console for a problem sony created?
so basically the way i see it is we all get refunds or none of us will (and by all i mean including non-amazoners) |
Actually it's more of an issue for Sony than that. Amazon may well have known they had no choice but to do a partial refund under their own legal consumer obligations. That said, they would almost certainly demand that Sony reimburse them and should Sony refuse, defpending on how much Amazon lose they not only would likely sue Sony but remove all Sony products from sale. This in turn, as Amazon are arguably the world's most well known online retailer, the effect would only snowball, causing Sony massive issues in being able to get their products into stores. This in turn would affect sales globally and in turn stock prices- which at that point becomes a very self-destructive cycle. I think Sony are praying that this goes away. Sadly it wont happen- expect Sony to possibly go the way of Sega after this whole debarcle.
