Hmm if you guys read his comments he used vgchartz too.
"lol, thanks Bill! Also, just for reference, he used VGChatz as a link. Though the numbers are unofficial, they're within the realm of reality. Now here's where the numbers come in.
Overall, the PS3 had sold 33.79 million units (and keep in mind the shortage we had the past couple months). The 360 sits at 39.22 million, with the Wii dominating at 69.85 million. Since Wii, at the moment, has a substantial lead, I'll ignore numbers for that for now, but looking at the 360 and PS3, the 360 is only 5.43 million units behind the 360. THe 360 has been out for 4.5 years (approx.) and the PS3 has been out for 3.5 (approx.). Going by those numbers, the average sales per year (rough estimate) is 9.6 million for the PS3, and the 360 sits at 8.71 million.
Of course, this doesnt take into account buying seasons, sales fluctuations and all that, but even then, the 360 still had one more holiday shopping season under it's belt. Plus, year over year for the past few months, the PS3 was the only one to increase in sales numbers, so, despite being in third place, sales wise, the PS3 has been more successful than the others in recent months...."
