so a company trying to protect it's business by protecting it's software from being compromised is stupid?

I suppose if a theif broke into your house you would allow him to take everything, is that what you would do?, after all doing otherwise is stupid in your eyes.

How is that similar at all?  The only person stealing here is Sony.  We already have people getting refunds now, the law isn't even on Sony's side.  Not only that but if we use this flawed analogy this doesn't even prevent the "thief" in this case from doing whatever he wants.
