Sony has made many modifications, which have added things for free to the system such as trophies.
Sony have added allot more than they've takn aways in regards to firmware, and yet people bitch.
The only person to blame is Geohot, he was the one that announced he had cracked the PS3, and in reaction like any companie trying to protect it's business put in a measure to disable the "others OS" feature IF the user chose to upgrade to the firmware.
So at this stage, if your angry that you lost "others os" after upgrading the firmware, then you have no one to blame but your self, as Sony clearly stated in the upgrade log that the feature would be removed and as the user you choose to accept the terms and condition and procceed to upgrade the firmware.
