That would be because they have twice the RAM of previous iTouch devices. I'll be interested to see how Apple handles this. Or rather, how my phone's interface and battery will handle it. Any word on FM radio functionality? I've heard it might be on its way, sometime. Edit: Skimmed through the link. Sad to see no FM radio. Still curious as to how these background APIs will be managed by the user. OpenFeint will be annoyed that Game Center has made them obsolete. I see Apple has cooked up a plan to combat free, ad-supported apps where Apple bears all the distribution costs, but earns no store revenue: Serve the ads. |
FM radio would be a hardware feature, and they did not talk about hardware.
I am thinking when this comes out in the fall for the iPad, I could spend $3 a month on Skype, $29 a month on unlimited data plan, and get rid of my phone all together.
That would save me about $550 a year. Nice.
Now I just need to find a way to have an iPad on me at all times, without looking like I have a purse. I used to have a boss who carried a day planner with hin everywhere he went. The incase case makes it look just like a day planner. I could do that I guess.
I also saw a carrier bad, like the ones bike carriers use. It looked like it would look cool running or biking though NYC, but walking through the mall, it would look like I had a man purse. :(
