I learned that the Duma (Russian Parliament) used to have half of its members elected in a single-member-simple-plurality system (similar to US and UK, where someone represents a geographic district and wins that district with a plurality only, not a majority) and half proportional representation, but it was changed to all-PR in 2003.
I love my Russian Politics class.
