ares was never brought up... in gow2, zeus feared kratos would over-throw him and the rest became upset when he was helping sparta attack cities that worshiped them...
in gow3, hades is pissed of because you killed posieden and his wife (psp game)... and also because you escaped from hades.
posieden wants you dead because you want to kill zeus, his brother the person that freed him from the belly of kronos... so yeah..
Hera is pissed off because you are proof that zeus had an affair and she is obiviously not going to like the fact that you killed her son (ares)...
all in all, greek mythology is pretty complicated and has alot of shit going on... feuds between gods, affiars, lies and all other good shit.. so i think they did the best they could when their source material is so fucking flawed.
