Probably because the Macbook hasn't been updated since June last year 
I'm actually waiting for the new Macbook Pro to be released. I was also considering a Vaio but I want that backlit keyboard and I'll carry my notebook around quite a lot and the aluminum feels way more durable than whatever they used in the Vaio. If the update doesn't dissappoint I'll go with the Macbook. But Vaio's are really cool.
