I don't think motion controls AND regular controls would be an option. With motion controls, we wouldn't want something like Zelda: TP where you just swing your arm and do a slash. At least for me, I'd want complete freedom of movement so you essentially create your own move set, whether it's effective or not would be something else. But then this raises a few issues.

A) A whole new 'style' of developing. Certain movements would be fine with the Move, but awkward with a real weapon, this would need to be accounted for somehow. Not to mention the whole one-handed vs two handed thing though you could hold the other controller in a manner as if you're holding a two handed weapon, and that would be pretty cool. Either way, it would probably take longer to develop.

B) The regular controllers would be incapable of having the same freedom, so there would be an imbalance (though the imbalance could possibly favor either control set).

C) With the third person perspective, it could easily get disorienting, and it could be much harder to aim your strikes which is what Demon's Souls is all about. I'm not saying this is definitely the case, but when you're moving around and swinging your arms, it gets harder to keep your eyes on the screen at all times in a relaxed manner and thus time and aim properly.

Now, if we don't do true freedom of controls, and you have a few moves, then what's the point of having motion controls in the first place? If you only have 2-4 moves total, then it's very limiting in terms of motion controls. If you have too many more moves, then the regular controller can't support the game anymore. I REALLY don't want a situation like Zelda: TP.

So personally, no, I think the game would suffer with motion controls. I bought my PS3 for Demon's Souls, although I didn't know that until after =) It is one of my favorite games ever (let alone this gen). While it's possible that Demon's Souls 2 could be an AMAZING game with motion controls, there would be many obstacles to overcome first. I guess if they can do it, then go ahead! Then again, they wouldn't know without trying.
