I have a friend in the USA who is doing service for Sony computers (i.e laptops & co) at the customer's home. I don't know if this is a Sony specific thing for all products that can be repaired on the spot, but if it is, nice thing.
Edit: Mainly, they diagnose the hardware via phone, get hold of the replacement component, and my friend goes and installs them. The process seldom goes wrong. Now I wander if they could/would use this system for PS3 owners? Wouldn't that be nice.
