I just find it unintuitive that they don't make you beat it on the hardest mode.

The platinums in God of War Collection (#1 and #2) don't even require you to beat it on Titan.  The easiest mode + the challenges are all you need for those two games.  At least GOW3 put that requirement in.

Sounds like a rental that could result in two very easy platinums!
