I find those guys saying (more or less) graphics mean nothing hilarious ... mainly because they're all fans of a certain console that doesn't posess great graphical power.

Graphics matter a lot to some people, a beautiful game can enhance your experience tenfold, bioshock wouldn't be nearly as good as it was without it's amazing graphics to create that amazing atmosphere.

People that shrug off graphics as if it's fact they add nothing need to just get off their high horse.

You can't turn this into a Nintendo fans vs. the world argument.  Counting the polygons or pixels of a GAME that you PLAY is about as meaningful as counting the words in a book, the colors in a painting, the scenes or shots in a movie, or the notes in a song.    The medium is defined by interactivity, so that's the most important aspect.

Graphics didn't really help the PS2 become the best-selling console of all time, and they didn't really help games like Tetris, Pokemon, and The Sims become the best-selling games of all time.  The majority of gamers don't care, on any console.

SNES games looked better than Genesis games, but I still enjoyed Genesis games.  GameCube and XBox games both looked much better than PS2 games, but I still enjoyed PS2 games.  PC games have always looked better than console games.  Nobody cares.  Not even PC gamers.  They prefer PCs for the keyboard/mouse controls, better online gaming, and the modding community.
