Well despite being bad movies, they are commercial successes, and in the end that is all that matters. 

I don't think that's true. I think only the first one was a commercial success. I could be wrong though.

Actually the first one did the worst of all of them.

These numbers are box office only and do not include DVD/Blu-ray sales either,  which I am sure were also pretty decent numbers as well.
