Framerate is a huge deal for many gamers. Personally, I'd rather see a game render in 480p with 60fps than 1080p with 30fps or an inconsistently low framerate. Last weekend we were switching between Forza 2 and NFS:MW for the 360, and it was just pure pain. EA seems to think that ~20fps is good enough for racing games, MW looks like poop also.

I just don't see how a company like Insomniac or the guys that did Call of Duty 4 can outclass EA's money or Valve's "expertise"

EA is a money machine. They're not focused on making good games, they're focused on making "good enough" games. Look at their madden games, look at the NFS games. Many of the people I play games with didn't have a problem with 15-20fps in NFS:MW or thought that Forza 2 and NFS: Pro Street were "mirror images".

My point is that most gamers don't discern that much between good and bad framerates, they don't discern as much between racing games with good physics and racing games that are just plain hard to drive. The same goes with EA's football games: if the names and stats are correct and you can run or pass, it's football.

I agree that EA is a money machine, I definitely do :D But take a look at there sales, is it really coincidence that good ports like Assassins Creed, COD4, or Oblivion sell well? EA isn't making crap off the PS3, coincidentally EA is the worst company making ports on the PS3...

I know for a FACT I wont be purchasing Orange box, potential customers -1. If the games are going to get bad reviews, people won't be in a hurry to pick them up, if ever. And EA being the machine that it is should have been the first in line to learn the hardware. Playstation owners spent a pretty penny on there system and many like me refuse to put garage into it. I read reviews and if the port's are poor I'm simply not interested, the quality of games like Heavenly Sword, Warhawks, Uncharted, and Ratchet is too far out there for me to be impressed by a shoddy port. It's a lot like going from Blu-ray back to DVD at times, I just don't like it. And if EA keeps spamming this crap I'm going to continue not to buy them :P REGARDLESS of how great the title is (Orange Box as my prime example).

Pretty soon GT5 Prologue will be released running at 60FPS, 1080p, and I'm assuming 5.1 digital audio. How am I supposed to go back to Need for Speed Pro Street without laughing, and if the new Burnout is thinking to be similar? Put me down in the not interested category :P

Now I know I'm just 1 person out there with these feelings, but the majority of people that buy many, many games read reviews, so I know I can't be the only one, and given the sucess of games like COD4 and Assassins creed, I think EA better start listening, they seem to be missing out on a rather large market if you ask me, and that's just bad business.
