Edit - I would like to point out that Alundra 2 was also a seriously bad sequel. The first one was actually a very good game, with some of the most inventive and hard puzzles i've ever played. The second was a generic RPG borefest with no actual story.

I don't understand why people don't like Alundra 2 and Chrono Cross (i actually prefer them over the original )

I feel alone now that "hatmoza" is away

I know PE 2 was disappointing, but come on.... its wasn't that bad

@OP

That's an easy one DMC 2 or Persona 3

The problem with Alundra 2 is that the first one actually manages to be a good competitor to Zelda, and in some parts (the puzzles) it actually surpasses it. Alundra 2 is just a bit of a generic jRPG, it has no actual distinctive marks and has a somewhat weak story. They could have expanded the Dreamwalker story much more. Heck, it shouldn't even be called Alundra, since that's the name of the protagonist from the first one xD.

For what the first Parasite Eve accomplished, Parasite Eve 2 was a a major letdown for me when I played it the first time. Subsequential playthroughs made me realize that it was an actual good game, but the damage had been done. It stripped pretty much everything that made the first one an unique RPG and instead tried to do the whole Resident Evil terror game. It's not only when you reach the Ark that the game goes back to being Parasite Eve-like.
