If you compare the sales, COD is at about the same place as halo 3 was in the same timeframe, but halo 3 is very well associated with xbox allowing it to have great legs later on and get to 10mil in a bit less then 2years. This MW will have to deal with an influx of shooters that will greatly reduce its sales. For now it is considered a must buy when u get a ps3, but that won't last that long, especially if the upcoming shooters are very good or get advertised. |
Halo 3 was heavily bundled. MW2 is pulling these sorts of numbers without any such bundle. And the sequel won't totally kill sales, MW1 was still selling after WAW and even MW2 came out. I see it maxing out just slightly over 10 million, maybe 10.5 million.
