I agree that there should be a lawsuit. I look at it like this. In the US, I payed $599 to have a gaming console that I can also use as a computer. People today are spending $299 for just a game console. How is it right that Sony can take the computer part away without refunding our $300? I have never been more mad at Sony as a company as I am about this. This system will be destroyed by hacks now. They deserve it. They shouldn't steal $300 from their most loyal customers.

Nobody bought a ps3 for linux. you can get a much cheaper pc that runs a much less limited version of linux.

That said Sony never guarenteed future linux support, the end user liscence agreement you didint read says sony can take out whatever they want basically. If you want to sue someone sue the little girlie looking fucktard who started this

You're wrong, there are quite a few companies that bought PS3's to run in clusters.  You're correct that right now it makes no sense to buy a PS3 for a linux solution but 2 years ago it was a more attractive proposition.  I think Sony have just set an alarming precedent and too many people on this site are not thinking about the long term implications, this ranks alongside the horse armour DLC debacle with new ways to screw customers over.

and those cluster's will still work.they can still use it for Linux, nothing is stoping them from not updating the PS3's of the cluster.

even debug kit's have the 3.20 update which still contained Linux support.

if their clustering, thay are most likely using them for non game purposes anyway!

while I think its bad that Sony was forced to do this.

but then again security was deemed more important.

beside's  Java can be more of a focus for homebrew because it still work's off of a blank BD 25 disc..
