So can someone point out exactly what law Sony is breaking?

The OP already noted this: go read the DMCA. (In the USA.)

At some point, some lawyer is going to pick up on this and Sony *is* going to be sued. Not a question of if, only a question of when and, I can guarantee you, Sony has already factored in the costs of various lawsuits before making this move. The net result being that the lawyer is going to get paid, we might get a coupon, and nothing is going to change re: the stripping of OtherOS support.

(Literally the only way that Sony would roll this back is a groundswell of anti-Sony sentiment from their userbase, but just by reading this and a million other threads on this issue, that isn't going to happen, which is a real shame because it's only going to embolden other companies to play the same 'games' in the future.)

I would be interested to see the content of the Linux HDD of those few users that keep complaining, like for example how much content they have on those Linux boxes that they have no legal right to have........

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !
