The biggest problem with HTML 5 is the adoption of the <video> tag, which is meant to replace Flash. However, browsers like Firefox and some others use an open source codec to playback video, sites like Youtube prefer the proprietary codecs, citing quality concerns. Ultimately, if they can't decide on a standard HTML 5 won't take off like it should.
