The people of Gaza didn't elect Hamas because of the terrorist attacks but inspite of them because Hamas uses a lot of it's "funding" to help people in the area and may actually be less corrupt then the PLO... but if they ever were actually recognized... all hell would break loose. Hamas just gives Israel more execuse to take more and more land and maybe even all of Gaza eventually. The first step to piece is Hamas realizing they're hurting and not helping. They seem to have realized that recently. |
There is no way they could fuck over Gaza more than Gaza is being fucked over by Israel. The siege of Gaza is an atrocity. The reason they aren't recognized is because almost nobody wants the instability of a militant government in the middle east.
