Either way, Islam hasn't done a lot for itself to give it a great reputation. Mabey people are just frustrated with the repeated terrorism plots and are taking it out on the burqa wearers.

Sure, it's a religion that grew out of Judaism and is primarily focused on the rituals of its faith and is the other abramic faith besides judaism and christianity. Like every religion it has a set of ideals that its adherants are supposed to follow. Practically, its adherants have a violent subgroup that comprise the vast majority of the worlds terrorists. NOw i'm not saying that all muslims are terrorists but most terrorists are muslims, sadly.
I've read the koran, and about mohammad, i've taken an intro to islam course in college that was offered a few years after 9/11 because many people, including myself were trying to figure out why we had a new enemy that is motivated by religion and collectively identifying with the chip on its people's shoulders.

That would be nice but it's essentially naive as well. The group feels that they need to circumvent the usual complaining and voting procedures that the western democracies use, as well as have big chips on their shoulders, the combo of which is deadly. In short we'll use whatever identification or other classification methods if we can. And since the majority of terrorists are muslims, then ........ we'll assume that most of them are muslim. I dont see the harm in that kamal.
