because Sony did not charge you for LINUX it was free, unless you payed for YDL but even than YDL was even handed out free also.

Naturally, Geohot then admitted that it could also allow people to run pirated games.  “I’m not going to personally have anything to do with that,” he said.

But

on the same token HE did have something to do with it  HE RELEASED HIS EXPLOIT, AN HIM KNOWING FULL WELL THAT IT COULD allow people to run pirated software.

what he does with his own ps3 is fine an dandy but allowing other's to do so also by helping them to do it

is having something to do with it.

so once again what would he expect Sony to do.

Hacking is great and all but when the result's of that  hacking you know would incite the use of your hack to cause piracy, than it's upto you with what you do with that , by putting it on the internet free for anyone to use. you would have to expect the same measure of resolve by the company who's product you hacked to protect that security exploit no matter if you intend for it to be just to show proof you did something like Hack a device. hacking can be a good thing , but also hacking does have sometime's a negative effect.
