I don't think fighting fire with gasoline is such a good idea. Violent upbringing - and bad upbringing in general - can easily cause children to develop mental problems (like a lack of self-esteem, depression, insecurity), causing some people to take them out on others in order to cope with them, thus either creating bullies or making them even worse than they already were. EDIT: Just for the record, I am in no way defending these kids that most likely caused this girl to commit suicide, and they should be held accountable, disciplined and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I'm just saying that if you're going to fight bullying, you might as well do it right while you're at it. |
I know, I just said that out of frustration since I have a kid sister myself who has been a victim of bullying in the past.
Probably it's one of the most difficult things to combat in nowadays schools, mainly because kids are rarely held accountable for their own actions. That sentiment of protection allows them to pretty much do whatever they want without thinking of the consequences.
