The only comparisions I have visually are at bestbuy which is not really fair because of the lighted rooms.

That is why i read unbiased opinions (consumer report and cnet) and chose a Sony Bravia lcd.

If you are going to get an LCD, a Sony Bravia is best.  My experience is with a 50" LCD vs. a 42" Plasma.  Both are appartments with similar lighting conditions in the living rooms.  Basically, as long as I put the shades down on the window in my apartment and close the screen across the porch doors, the colors are vibrant and easy to see.

The chance of an input lag on an LCD is a big draw, although it's not very comon in Bravias.  The problem is the cheaper LCDs (the prices Bod are looking at) are going to have that issue, and as you go down in price in LCD the quality drops like a rock, wheras some of the best Plasmas are no more expensive than some of the crappiest LCDs.
