I'm back! Sorry I was studying. Goose Samsung DOES rate the half-life for their recent Plasmas and any made within the last couple years have 60,000 hour half-lives or more (60K is my 42"). So yeah, Samsungs are great values, as are Panasonics. Those are the two brands I trust the most in Plasma.
Also, my friends and I always game at my apartment because of how much better my Plasma is than their LCD. My room has a normal amount of sunlight (no direct light on the TV) and the picture difference is huge. Everything on the Plasma is much more defined because of the better blacks. Also, the LCD has a slight input lag. Try playing Guitar Hero with input lag...
The Half-Life of 60,000 hours gives well over 10 years of TV use without any color fade, which is longer than most people go before replacing TVs. Screen Burn-in DOES NOT HAPPEN under any normal circumstances. You would have to leave a static image on your TV for well over a week for that to happen. So do not be concerned about burn-in.
