PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain looks fantastic. Mark Carson, head of mo-cap specialist CaptiveMotion, told website VG247 that while the psychological thriller is "beautiful", it is also "visually uneven". Here's the quote:
"It's beautiful and brilliant but visually uneven at points, which unfortunately is the nature of the industry because of the scope, budgets and time-frames required," says Carson, who worked on the mo-cap for Xbox 360 title Alan Wake.
The specialist admitted that he does not own a PS3, but had "pored over the reviews and extended play video from the various sites." This doesn't sound like rabid fanboy, but rather, Carson trying to sell his company and his company's services.
"I would have loved to have worked with them on that project," Carson said about Heavy Rain. "I think we could have help with that. In the end it's a very different product from Alan Wake and I think everyone will agree once it comes out." And then the people who did Heavy Rain's motion capture can say how they did a better job.
Heavy Rain was released this past February. Alan Wake will be released this May.
