PS3/Wii. Wii has the Mario RPGs, FF, Phantasy Star, Breath of Fire, Ogre Battle, etc. (don't really count Zelda as an RPG) while PS3 has FF VII, FF VIII, IX in the future and hopefully they put Xenogears and Vagrant Story on NA PSN.

sony also have breath of fire from :p.

BOF3/4 aren't on PSN, even in Japan.

Although weirdly, BOF1 isn't on VC anywhere either. :/

they will be added  later according to capcom <.<.

Sven said he's trying to get them on there, but no promises.  I wouldn't hold out personally, all Capcom's managed to get on (US) PSN is SFA1-2. :/

I don't get it... why is it hard to get games out on VC and PSN.  Shouldn't it just be the company saying "Hey Nintendo/Sony... we want this on the VC."

Sony/Nintendo "Ok."

The way the digital services work, Nintendo/Sony license all 3rd party games, do the emulation/bug-testing/ratings/digital manuals inhouse and release them themselves.  In essence, all games on the Virtual Console (NES/SNES/N64) and PS Classics (PS1) are 1st party.  The only ones that aren't are actual 3rd party platforms, which are done through their respective owners or licensors.  It gets confusing though...

On VC that's Hudson (TG16/CD), Sega (SMS/Genesis), D4 (NeoGeo) and Commodore (C64). These companies also license all the 3rd party games on their platforms, and handle the work and releases themselves, similar to Nintendo and Sony for their platforms.  MSX is a more open format, and so far two companies have sublicensed it for VC releases themselves, D4 and Konami. On VC Arcade, it's more a real 3rd party effort and companies do their own games, and it's been Namco Bandai, Sega, Tecmo, Taito and Hamster (licensing others properties) so far.

On PSN so far there's just Hudson with TG16.  But there's been rumors of more happening, like Sega with Dreamcast.

A side not on Capcom, Sven wanted to get the original NES Bionic Commando on VC in time for Rearmed's launch.  Nintendo was like "lol f-u, NEVAR", since they were not getting any piece of the real franchise revival.  On the other hand, Nintendo was more than happy to start rolling out MM1-3 around MM9, and now MM4-6 around MM10.  Basically, Nintendo and Sony are the gatekeepers here.
