its only common sense that they close the door.

No it isn't. Removing Linux won't stop any hacks. It takes away a feature from those who paid for it.

You yourself mentioned it being a "tool" or a "door" that some geonerd made. Maybe it's not the only way to hack, but it's the easiest...and i'm sure that once someone hacks it, steps on a "How to" will be storming google, and it will be PSP all over again...so i repeat : It's only common sense from sony to take steps against piracy.

As I said earlier in the thread, this will not stop any future hack through Other OS!  Assuming the system is eventually fully hacked (thats a pretty huge IF given the state of the PS3 scene) lets assume they build custom firmware that allows you to still maintain Other OS functionality while still having the ability to pirate games (at the expense of PSN).  All anyone has to do to get their PS3 back to a exploitable revision with a fat is to put a new HDD (or blank your existing HDD) and when it asks you to insert a update disk to rebuild you put a old update prior to them removing the feature.  Voila you then perform whatever hack is necessary and put your custom firmware in and you're off.

This update is highly unlikely to stop anything and more to the point there is NOTHING to stop.  The people that will be doing these hacks will not be affected by this in the slightest by the way so this is only punishing general consumers.  The only thing this will encourage is the likes of Geohot to go on a crusade now to properly hack their system, its madness.
